The 2018 Sankranti/Pongal festival weekend, with a bevy of big-ticket releases from Telugu and Tamil industries, already looks overcrowded with over half a dozen films set for box-office battle. In Telugu, Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi and Balakrishna’s Jai Simhaa have already been confirmed to hit the screens. Ravi Teja’s Touch Chesi Choodu until last week was also in the Sankranti race but the latest update is that the film has opted out. According to reliable sources, the makers of Touch Chesi Choodu are now eyeing Republic Day weekend for release.

“Ravi Teja was not in the mood to release his film alongside two big releases. He convinced the makers to opt out of Sankranti race. The team hasn’t confirmed January 26 but they’re seriously considering the date as the project has been ready for a few months now. The makers are yet to make an official announcement,” a source told Hindustan Times.
The film, directed by debutant Vikram Sirikonda, features Ravi Teja in the role of a fearless cop. Raashi Khanna and Seerat Kapoor are playing the leading ladies. After delivering a blockbuster with Raja The Great this year, Ravi has pinned great hopes on Touch Chesi Choodu, bankrolled by Nallamalupu Bujji and Vallabhaneni Vamsi. The film has music by Pritam.
