The film, one of the most anticipated Telugu films of the year, was scheduled for release on the prime August 15 release date. “I feel let down, disappointed, hurt,” Deverakonda wrote on Twitter on Sunday. The producers were alerted about the availability of the film on YouTube, and managed to have the videos removed. They also filed a complaint with the police.

According to The News Minute, the prime accused is a man named Padavala Rajesh, a resident of Hyderabad. The accused had allegedly copied the film and shared it with members of his family, several of whom are students at KL University. These relatives circulated the film among friends.

Other Telugu films that have suffered a similar fate in the past include Shankar Dada MBBS, Maghadeera, and Baahubali. Deverakonda delivered an acclaimed performance in the sleeper hit Arjun Reddy. The film will be remade in Hindi with Shahid Kapoor in the lead role.
