Or expressing your love through a billboard?
Being in love has taken a larger-than-life route in the city.
Sample this: Delhi boy Avinash Jayan, who has been dating Tanvi Malik for the last 10 years, produced and enacted a three-minute clip that was played in a city multiplex to a clueless Tanvi, who had come to watch a movie with her friend.
"We met at a movie theatre, so I thought it would be the best way to express my feelings. Although we had been dating for a long time, Tanvi wasn’t sure that we would end up together, because of the way I am. So I had to say it in a grand way," he says. The duo is set to tie the knot next year.
A recently held #expressyourlove campaign saw thousands of couples entering the contest to get their photographs up on billboards. "We are flooded with requests from couples," says Ankur Warikoo of Groupon India, which is behind the initiative.

If that’s not enough, there are love flash mobs, too. "I recently organised a flash mob for a guy who took his girl out for dinner at a dhaba in Manesar. There were around 11 waiters who pretended to be shoppers. They danced to Woh Ladki Hai Kahan (Dil Chahta Hai)," says Rishi Sharma from Aatma Dance Company.
And, those wanting to give a filmy spin to their love story are hiring cinematographers to shoot a proposal video. Prashant Bhardwaj, owner of a Delhi-based film making company, Knot Just Pictures, says, "Young people are requesting us to shoot out-of-the-box videos. We recently put together a video using stills of a couple hanging out in the city. In the last shot, the guy proposed on-screen to the unsuspecting girl."
