Rio winners Mo Farah (UK), who completed a 5000-10000 double-double at Rio, David Rudisha (Kenya), who retained his 800m title and compatriot Eliud Kipchoge, who claimed the marathon and Ashton Eaton (US), who retained the decathlon title, are among the nominees for the men’s award. Two of the nominees are Ayana, who smashed the 10,000m record where Caster Semenya retained the women’s 800m title. Three men and women finalists each will be shortlisted after voting ends on November 1 and the winners will be announced on the IAAF Awards Night. htc
