Mumbai FC midfielder Nishant Mehra has been provisionally banned, pending the result of his B sample test. The footballer, the first in the I-League to fail a dope test, gave his second sample at the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) on Thursday.

"The B sample test was done today and we expect to get the result by next week. Until then, Mehra has been handed a provisional suspension," said Sunando Dhar, the I-League chief executive officer (CEO). Asked if Mumbai FC would have to bear any consequences, Dhar told HT: "We would have to discuss on that."
Mehra refused to comment until the result of the B sample is announced. His A-sample test, which was given out on Wednesday, showed him to have taken Tetra-Hydro Cannabinol (THC).
