ADR seeks urgent hearing on electoral bonds case in Supreme Court

The ADR in its PIL in the Supreme Court had sought that the amendments carried out to the Finance Act that were passed as Money Bills which provided an anonymous route for political parties to receive corporate funding through electoral bonds be struck down.

Govt announces new set of electoral bonds as Supreme Court examines plea on their stay

As per BJP’s audit report, the ruling party at got 60 per cent of Rs 2,410 crore raised before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections through electoral bonds.

With assets worth Rs 77.7 crore, BJP’s Jayant Sinha richest fifth phase candidate in Jharkhand

Lok Sabha elections 2019: 210 candidates contesting in Phase 4 face criminal cases

In terms of parties, 25 out of 57 candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), 18 out of 57 candidates from Congress, 11 out of 54 candidates from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), 12 out of 21 candidates analysed from Shiv Sena and 60 out of 345 Independent candidates have declared criminal cases.

Odisha government has performed ‘below average’, says election watchdog

SC should have passed order on netas facing charges, say former election commissioners

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court said it was up to Parliament to pass a law to ensure those facing criminal charges do not enter politics. The court did ask for adequate disclosure of these charges, but the activists and former election officials would have liked more.
