Five admitted to hospitals in Maharashtra; 39,784 screened till now amid coronavirus outbreak

A total of 39,784 travellers have been screened at the Mumbai international airport since around mid-January for coronavirus, whose outbreak was reported in December-end from China’s Wuhan city,a health department release said.

After being trapped between rocks for over 40 hours, Chandrapur tiger dies

The tiger, apparently from Tadoba tiger reserve, had jumped into Sirna river, near Kunada village, after making a kill and got spinal injuries, according to the forest officials.

Act against NHAI for excavation work inside bird sanctuary: Mumbai HC

Based on previous HC directives, Vijay Hinge, then divisional forest officer (wildlife) Pune, Maharashtra forest department, had confirmed through an affidavit before the HC on October 30, 2014, that quarrying work was in fact carried out by NHAI and its concessionaire inside GIB Sanctuary.

Maharashtra to impart skill training to women from minority groups

The government on Wednesday issued a resolution, directing the Mahila Arthik Vikas Mahamandal (MAVM) to form self-help groups (SHG) in 14 districts in Marathwada and Vidarbha.
