Hyderabad judge arrested in corruption case for having assets worth over Rs 3 crore

A judge in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district court was arrested on Thursday for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income after a series of raids by the state anti-corruption bureau, according to a statement issued by the latter.

Kerala CM Vijayan should face trial in corruption case: CBI tells Supreme Court

The case pertains to an agreement with Canadian firm SNC Lavalin in 1997 for renovation and modernisation of Pallivasai, Sengulam and Panniar hydroelectric projects in Idukki district of Kerala, which allegedly caused a loss of Rs 266 crore to the exchequer.
In an affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, the CBI questioned the discharge of Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and two others, saying the Kerala high court’s orders in this regard was “not correct”.(PTI)
