In the minutes of its meeting on November 25, published on Monday on the ministry’s Parivesh website, Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) said Central Public Works Department (CPWD) should “refrain from the piecemeal approach for the proposed development and redevelopment.”

Delhi govt asks CPWD to explain violation of tree transplantation norms

A Delhi government spokesperson said the department held a meeting on the matter on Thursday. “A show-cause notice has been issued to the CPWD following reports of violation. Necessary action will be taken under the DPTA, in case violations are found,” the spokesperson said.

Tata Projects Limited emerged as the lower bidder for the tender to construct the new Parliament complex by quoting a bid of 861.90 crore when the financial bids for the project opened on September 16 and it was awarded the contract to construct the building on September 29.

Arts panel rejects plan to redevelop India Gate lawns

The approximately 700-metre underpass is being constructed near the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) office to link the Delhi airport with Vasant Kunj.
