23% drop in road mishaps in Himachal in 2020, says DGP

Director general of police Sanjay Kundu on Friday said there had been a 23% reduction in road mishaps and a 36% drop in injuries in Himachal in 2020. A total 2,187 road accidents took place in the state in 2020 (till December 26) against 2,844 mishaps in 2019.

Designated police officer for every village soon: DGP

CHANDIGARH Punjab director general of police (DGP) Dinkar Gupta on Friday announced to earmark a designated police officer in the rank of assistant sub-inspector/head constable/constable, for each of the 12,700 villages of the state. The designated police officer would provide “a ready point of contact for the people living in the villages of the state”, he said.
