He made a mark on his fans with his performances in films like Polladhavan, Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Aadukalam and Vadachennai. For Aadukalam, he won Best Actor at the 58th National Film Awards and Vadachennai emerged as the highest-grossing A-rated Tamil film of all time. He is married to Aishwarya Rajinikanth.
