The Covid-19 pandemic has exposed an ugly reality: Migrant labourers live in slums and informal/unauthorised colonies that are congested, lack basic sanitation and water services, ventilation and green spaces. As a result, they are at a far greater risk of contracting the virus, along with other illnesses.

Wednesday saw season’s highest power demand in Delhi

The season’s highest demand was recorded at 3:34pm on Wednesday, the power department said. On Tuesday, the city’s peak power demand had touched 6,792 MW at 11:53pm.

How the cement industry is helping India meet its climate goals

Given the cement industry’s achievements in energy efficiency and use of fly ash and steel industry slag, taking alternative fuel usage, including the existing commitment to use plastic waste, to the European level of 40% by 2025 should be worth attempting. This is an ambitious target though not unrealistic.
