The 12th Delhi International Arts Festival witnessed colourful performances by South Korean artists who presented musical and dance performances during the opening ceremony at the Purana Quila, and the next day at Central Park, Connaught Place. It was the first time in India that South and North Korean dance performances were presented on the same stage.

UNESCO accepted the joint Korean bid to recognize traditional Korean wrestling on November 26. Ssireum was inscribed onto the United Nations cultural body’s list of intangible cultural heritage items. It was a historic bid as both North and South Korea made an unprecedented joint bid. The decision was unanimously made by a UNESCO committee in Mauritius.The official name of the newly listed world heritage item is “Traditional Korean Wrestling (Ssirum/Ssireum)”. The Indie Comix Fest with its 2nd edition was organised at Korea Culture Centre, Lajpat Nagar Delhi. The festival provided a platform to self-publishing comix artists access to the direct market where they showcased their creations. The event was a contemporary cultural melting pot with many comic book artists, writers, illustrators and self-publishing labels displaying their wares.
