With 143 fresh Covid-19 cases, Uttarakhand crosses 6,000-mark

According to the health bulletin released by the state health department on Sunday evening, 143 fresh cases included a maximum 51 from US Nagar district. The other districts reported; Almora (3), Chamoli (1), Dehradun (46) Haridwar (26), Nainital (5), Pauri (3), Rudraprayag (1), Tehri (1) and Uttarkashi (6).
Seventy-one Covid-19 patients were also discharged from different hospitals in the state on Sunday with a maximum of 43 from Dehradun district.(REUTERS)

Uttarakhand reports 3 new Covid-19 cases, 9-month-old tests positive

Dr. Dinesh Chauhan, additional chief medical officer, Dehradun, and the nodal officer for Covid-19 in the district, said that a doctor from the military hospital in Dehradun and a nine-month-old baby tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday.

Tiger kills 23-year-old forest watcher in Corbett reserve

The body of Sohan Singh, a daily wager who worked as a forest watcher, was recovered on Monday evening, said Rahul, field director of Corbett reserve. “The family will be given a compensation of Rs 3 lakh,” he said.

Nainital waterfall tragedy: Tourist’s body recovered

The body of one of the two tourists, who drowned at the bottom of a waterfall in Dhari area of Uttarakhand’s Nainital district, was recovered on Thursday, officials said. Eight people from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur had gone to the Bhalugaad waterfall when when Zubair (25) and Shivam (20) drowned on Wednesday, said Dhari tehsildar Nawazish Khaliq.
