‘Ghat Par Yog’ organised in over 100 places in India on occasion of Yoga day

The ‘Ghat Par Yog’ events were organised at nearly 145 locations in Ganga main stem states, including Uttar Pradesh (60), Uttarakhand (30), Jharkhand (150, Bihar (36) and West Bengal (4).

Value the knowledge of the Ganga’s riverine communities for river’s development

The National Council of Applied Economic Research recently conducted a study, titled, Livelihood and Health Challenges of Riverine Communities of the River Ganga, in collaboration with the University of Chicago’s Tata Centre for Development to explore the social & economic engagement of the riverine communities on the Ganga in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced the launch of the Namami Gange Clean-up programme with a budget of <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>20,000 crore during 2015–2020.(PTI)

National Mission for Clean Ganga gets registered in Guinness world records

Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat posted his message on the Ganga on Facebook, after which the Guinness activity was opened for the public at large.

The record was established on the first day of the Ganga Utsav -- the River Festival 2021 for the highest number of photos of handwritten notes uploaded on the social media platform in an hour.(HT/Picture for representation)
