After 8 years, rural local bodies of Tamil Nadu conduct polls

All the 46,639 seats were polled from morning 7 to evening 5 without any major glitches according to R Palaniswamy, State Election Commissioner, Tamil Nadu.

Nataraja idol, smuggled to Australia, brought back to India after 37 years

The Nataraja idol was stolen from the Kulasekaramudayar-Aramvalarth Nayagi temple at Kallidaikurichi in Tirunelveli district in 1982.

Stolen from Tamil Nadu’s Tirunelveli, Nataraja idol retrieved from Australia after 37 years

The ancient idol was among three idols stolen from the Kulasekaramudayar-Aramvalarth Nayagi temple at Kallidaikurichi in Tirunelveli district in 1982. In 1984, the district police had closed the case on the ground that they could not be traced.

NIA raids homes of ‘Ansarulla’ terror module accused in Tamil Nadu

Tamil Nadu man held for killing wife over Facebook use: Cops

Gomathinayagam, who lives in Sankarankoil town about 200 km from Chennai and has three children, confessed to having murdered his wife Muthumari, 33, six days ago on repeated questioning by the police.

5 minors arrested for hacking man to death in Tamil Nadu, police suspect honour killing
