When it is about eating rice, most people in the South Asian countries, including India, prefer to use their hands. Hence, it is no wonder that a post by a former butler to the British royals suggesting that one should not use hands or fingers to eat rice has left many irked.

Shared on the Twitter profile called The Royal Butler, the post has now led to an outrage on Twitter. Grant Harrold, the man behind the profile, whose bio says he was “Former Butler to Princes Charles, William and Harry”, invited Twitter’s wrath when he shared a post asking people to only use a knife and fork or chopsticks to eat rice. His post is complete with an image of an individual doing just that.

Since being shared on March 6, the post has received tons of annoyed comments. Just like from this individual who wrote, “If your etiquette teaches you to make fun of someone's culture, then there is a need to improve your etiquette.” In reply, The Royal Butler tweeted:
