A 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria, followed by an aftershock about 10 hours later, has left the nations devastated. The search and rescue teams are desperately trying to find survivors under the rubble after the catastrophic events. Images and videos of some of the survious are also being shared online. Just like a video of a seven-year-old Syrian girl shielding her younger brother from debris. The clip has left people heartbroken but amazed at the little girl’s determination. It has also prompted many to share their reactions. And one person did so with a moving illustration.

Twitter user Muhammad posted the sketch along with a heartening caption. “This 7 years old girl took care of her younger brother for 17 hours in the dark, under low roof pressure. And kept him in her protection until the rescue team discovered them. She greeted them with a smile. #TurkeySyriaEarthquake,” they wrote.

Here's a video of the incident that shows the little girl and her brother moments before their rescue.

“This situation is beyond heartbreaking and I'm so glad these two are okay... what a lucky little brother to have his big brave sister,” wrote a Twitter user while reacting to the video. “What a brave little girl,” shared another. “This is heartbreaking,” tweeted a third.
