Mallika Dua shares her story as part of ‘me too’ protest: I was molested in the car as my mom drove

In her Facebook post, Mallika Dua talked about being molested at the age of seven. Mallika was writing as part of ‘Me too’ protest where people worldwide shared sexual abuse experiences.

Responding to the #MeToo hashtag initiated by actor Alyssa Milano following the numerous charges of sexual assault against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, comedian Mallika Dua has opened up about abuse she suffered as a child.

Mallika Dua took part in the trending #MeToo hashtag and talked about her own experience as a child when she was molested.

In her post, Mallika talked about being molested at the age of seven. She wrote that her mother drove the car as she was being molested in the back seat. She did not reveal the anything about the culprit.

“Me too ... in my own car. My mother was driving while he sat at the back with his hand under my skirt the whole time. I was 7. My sister was 11. His hands went everywhere inside my skirt and on my sister’s back. My father who was in a different car dislocated the bastard’s jaw with his bare hands later that night,” she wrote Monday afternoon.

Actress Alyssa Milano has sparked a huge outpouring with a simple Twitter request that women respond "me too" if they have been sexually assaulted or harassed.The hashtag, #MeToo, has been used more than 200,000 times since Sunday night.

The avalanche of painful personal stories comes amid a series of high-profile sex abuse scandals -- the latest centered around powerful Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. Over two dozen women have alleged sexual harassment at the hands of the media mogul while five allegations are that of rape. The intensity and breadth of the response underscored how the problem extends well beyond the rich and famous, affecting the everyday lives of women around the world.

"If you've been sexually harassed or assaulted write 'me too' as a reply to this tweet," Milano wrote.
