Post leap, Tina Dutta to play double role in Uttaran

After numerous false starts, the Colors’ long-running soap Uttaran will finally take an 18-year leap on March 26. Actor Tina Dutta, who currently plays the role of a young married woman Ichcha, will essay a double role in the show after the leap.

Excited to play both the mother and the daughter in the show, she says, “Nani and Ammo helped me with the portrayal of the older character Ichcha, and I went out of my way to get Meethi’s (daughter) body language right. I went to colleges in Kolkata to understand teen behaviour. It is a challenge for me to play two roles at the same time and I hope viewers will like it.”
