European powers have signaled their willingness to ease sanctions on Iran following a reported diplomatic breakthrough between Washington and Tehran. United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy said sanctions relief could be considered if Iran takes verifiable steps addressing concerns over its nuclear program. The four countries welcomed the reported U.S.-Iran agreement and reiterated that Tehran must not acquire nuclear weapons. They also expressed readiness to work with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United States and Iran to advance diplomatic efforts, raising expectations of broader economic and political normalization if negotiations succeed.
