At BRICS summit with Putin & Xi, South Africa's Ramaphosa calls for joint action over Trump tariffs

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for a unified and strategic BRICS response to major shifts in global trade, warning that unilateral tariffs and protectionist policies are destabilizing emerging economies and threatening global development. In his address to the BRICS Leaders’ Summit, Ramaphosa stressed the importance of strengthening multilateralism, reforming the WTO, breaking down non-tariff barriers, and building trade and investment partnerships across Africa, Asia, the Gulf, the Americas, and Europe.
