Booms in Doha, sirens in Bahrain: Iran’s massive missile barrage slams Mid-East

The Middle East has entered another dangerous phase after Iran launched missile and drone attacks against multiple U.S.-linked military facilities across the Gulf, following a new wave of U.S. strikes on southern Iran. Tehran claimed its operation targeted Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a U.S. military radar site in Kuwait, and logistics facilities linked to American forces in Oman. Qatar said its air defences intercepted an incoming missile, while Kuwait, Bahrain and the UAE activated air defence systems as regional alerts spread. Bahrain sounded air raid sirens, and Gulf states moved to high alert amid fears of wider escalation. Meanwhile, U.S. CENTCOM said American forces struck 140 Iranian military targets, while Iran also claimed it halted another vessel transiting the Strait of Hormuz, raising fresh concerns over global energy security and maritime trade.
