Updated on Mar 13, 2020 03:59 pm IST
Union law minister Ravi Shankar Prasad commented on the resolution passed by the Kerala Assembly against CAA. The House voted 138:1 in favour of a resolution seeking revocation of amendments recently made to India's citizenship law. These involve easing citizenship rules for 6 non-Muslim faiths from India's three neighbours - Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. Union minister Prasad said that only Parliament, and not state Assemblies, has the power to make laws related to citizenship.
