India’s Chandrayaan-3 is preparing to create history with its scheduled soft-landing on the moon on August 23. If successful, India would become the only country to soft-land on the south pole of the Moon. But why did other space powers like the United States, China and Russia never aim for the south pole? Former ISRO advisor Dr Surendra Pal explained to Hindustan Times’ Aditi Prasad.
