'China hand' Naveen Srivastava proposed as India's new Nepal envoy

Ahead of PM Modi’s mid-May visit, India has formally proposed Naveen Srivastava as the new envoy to Nepal. An 'experienced China hand', Naveen Srivastava heads the East Asia Division in the External Affairs Ministry. The East Asia Division in the ministry deals with China, Japan, North Korea, South Korea & Mongolia. Srivastava playing a key role in the diplomatic & military talks with China to tackle the LAC standoff.
