China sends fighter planes into Taiwan air defence zone | Invasion fears grow

- China's second largest incursion into Taiwan's air defence zone this year - 30 jets, including over 20 fighters. Taiwan scrambled aircraft and deployed air defence missile systems to monitor the latest Chinese activity. Beijing been sending large sorties into Taiwan's defence zone, keeping Taipei's ageing fighter fleet stressed. U.S. Senators have made Taiwan trips in a show of support; Democrat Tammy Duckworth landed in Taipei yesterday. So far in 2022, Taiwan has reported 465 incursions, a near 50% increase on the same period last year.
