China's peace plan for Ukraine has no buyers; Germany warns 'judge them by actions not words'

Germany has reacted with skepticism to China's peace proposal for the war in Ukraine. German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has said that China should be judged for its actions and its words. Pistorius echoed comments made earlier by NATO and EU who have raised doubts about Beijing's credibility as a mediator considering its close ties to Russia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed some elements of the Chinese proposal but said only the country where a war is being fought should be the initiator of a peace plan.
