Mehbubnagar in Telangana is home to Pillala Marri, a 700-year-old banyan tree. But unfortunately, the tree has some termite infestation which was gradually leading to its decay. The forest officials were then asked to preserve the tree and they are using drips to protect it. They are injecting pesticide through these drips. The tress is known to be in existence since 1200 AD and is spread across an area of 3 acres. It is a major tourist destination in Telangana.
