Covaxin, Covishield get full market approval by expert panel: What it means

An expert panel of the central drug authority on Wednesday cleared Covaxin & Covishield for full use. The subject expert committee of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation recommended regular market approval for the jabs. A full market authorisation is granted when a jab is deemed safe & effective for most who are inoculated with it. The jabs will soon be available at hospitals and clinics registered with government portal CoWIN. The recommendation has been sent to drug regulator DCGI who will evaluate and give its decision.
