Covid update: Oxford vaccine shows 70% efficacy; Maharashtra’s travel curb

From Maharashtra's travel restrictions to the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine showing 70% efficacy, here are the top updates on coronavirus. Maharashtra government on Monday made it mandatory for people coming from four cities to show Covid-19 negative report taken 96-72 hours prior to the journey. BMC said the next Covid-19 peak in Mumbai, which is anticipated in December this year, will affect both slums and high-rises equally. States like Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Rajasthan implement night curfew to prevent virus spread. Himachal Pradesh govt closed schools, colleges till December 31. Madhya Pradesh extended night curfew to six cities. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court asked four states – Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Assam – to file an affidavit on steps taken to control Covid-19.
