Covid update: India overtakes USA; Air India ban; UK ‘tipping point’

From India overtaking the United States of America in terms of total recovered patients, to Air India facing suspension in Hong Kong - here are the top news updates on the Covid-19 pandemic. The number of India's cured patients now account for around 19% of global recoveries. The national recovery rate has reached 79.2%. This is the ratio of recovered patients and total cases. Meanwhile, Delhi saw a daily death toll of around 30-40 between September 15 and 19, even as its cases rose past 2.4 lakh with 4,000+ new cases on all 5 days. In international news, the United Kingdom government said that the nation was on a 'tipping point' when it came to the pandemic, and a second lockdown might be necessary in case people don't follow precautionary rules.
