Covid update: Zydus-Cadila jab approved, 1st for children; Govt on 3rd wave

- Zydus-Cadila’s DNA-based vaccine got approval for emergency use in India by the DGCA for use in adults and children above the age of 12 years. PM Modi hailed the zeal of Indian scientists as the world’s first DNA-based vaccine got an approval. Meanwhile, Union Minister Anurag Thakur claimed that the government is ready to tackle third wave of the pandemic. Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett got his booster shot of Covid vaccine amid a spike in cases and Johnson & Johnson sought approval for trial of its vaccine on the 12-17 years age group.
