Covid update: Random testing for Delhi-Noida travelers; Pfizer for India

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal sought the Centre's approval to shut down markets which may emerge as Covid-19 hotspots amid rising cases. Government plans to double the Covid-19 testing in Delhi and also increase the number of ICU beds. As per Health Ministry's briefing on Tuesday, the number of ICU beds to be increased by over 6,000 while the number of tests conducted daily will be doubled to around 1 lakh tests. Ten mobile vans will be deployed and labs under ICMR will be roped in, Centre said. Health Ministry said Diwali, Durga Puja and other festivals' effect on Covid-19 may be visible soon.
