Explained: Sputnik Light Vs Sputnik V as India may accept Russian trial data
Published on Jul 01, 2021 09:32 pm IST
An expert committee on Thursday denied permission to Dr Reddy’s to conduct Phase-3 trials of Russia’s Sputnik Light, another version of the Sputnik V vaccine. However, it said that the data from the Phase-3 trials in Russia could be enough for a marketing authorization. The Sputnik Light is a one-dose vaccine unlike all other Covid vaccines approved for emergency use in India. Dr Reddy’s had started Phase3 trails of Sputnik V in India in September last year. The vaccine was approved for emergency use in the country in April 2020.
