Kappa variant of Covid: Cases in Uttar Pradesh, transmissibility | Key details

- Uttar Pradesh reported two cases of Kappa variant of Covid-19. The cases were reported by the King George’s Medical College. Out of 109 genome sequencing samples, 107 were Delta variant cases and two were Kappa variant. The Kappa variant is designated as a ‘variant of interest’, similar to the Lambda variant. The variant is not new and was detected in India in October 2020. Watch the full video for more details.
