Covid-19: MHA clarifies on shops that can be opened amid lockdown in India

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday clarified its order on the opening of shops amid lockdown. MHA allowed the opening of neighborhood shops and standalone shops but not shopping malls. The order for opening of shops is different for rural and urban areas. The order is also not for areas that are identified as containment zones. MHA Joint Secretary Punya Srivastava clarified the order. Several shops reopened in the country after the order. This comes as the country is under lockdown till May 3 in view of Covid-19.
