On March 24, Mumbai reported its highest-ever spike of 5,185 this year. Over 400 buildings have been sealed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). There has been no increase in the number of containment zones in slums and chawls. The KW ward which houses Andheri West has maximum concentration of new cases. The civic authorities are sealing buildings if a building has more than 5 active Covid cases. BMC tweeted on Wednesday and urged everyone to not drop their guards.
