New Health Minister hits the ground running with mega Covid package

India's new health minister Mansukh Mandaviya has hit the ground running. Mandaviya announced a ₹23,123 crore covid package on the day he took charge. The Covid package was decided at PM Modi's first meeting with the revamped cabinet. The new health minister announced the covid management package during a cabinet briefing on July 8. "Now we know what challenges we faced during the second wave of the pandemic. So in the second phase, we are announcing a package of about ₹23,123 crore keeping the future in mind," he said.
