Popularly known as Yoga Guru, Baba Ramdev of Patanjali sparked a controversy after a video of him claiming allopathy a stupid science went viral. In the said video, Ramdev had claimed that medicines approved by the DGCI for Covid treatment have failed. His comments triggered strong protests with the IMA demanding a case to be filed against Ramdev under the epidemics act. Though Ramdev withdrew his comments the next day after a nudge from Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, questions are being raised on the Yoga Guru’s remarks and the message it sent out to the country. In the latest episode of Hindustan Times' In Focus, senior Editor Aditi Prasad discusses Ramdev's anti-allopathy rant & how it affects the morale of doctors who are leading India's Covid battle and the country's image on the global stage.
