'Third phase inevitable': Covid warning by govt's scientific advisor

Even as India struggles against the second wave of Covid-19 infections, the Union government's principal scientific advisor K. VijayRaghavan said that more waves are likely to occur. He said that given the high circulation of virus among people, more variants are likely to emerge in the third phase of evolution of the microbe. He said that higher transmission is likely to plateau, but future virus variants may be more immune-evasive, and may change severity of the disease. Watch the full video for more.
