Vande Bharat: Stranded Indians from US, UK, Malaysia, Philippines brought back

Over 300 stranded Indians from UK's London arrived at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport on May 11. Proper arrangements were made at Bengaluru airport in view of coronavirus situation. Another Air India Express flight from Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur landed at Cochin International Airport. The flight carrying 177 Indian nationals included two infants. An Air India flight carrying 241 Indians from Philippines's Manila arrived in Mumbai. This was the first flight from Philippines for repatriation of Indians in wake of Covid-19. Meanwhile, Indians arrived at Newark Liberty International Airport to board Air India flight to Mumbai. Thermal screening and security checks of passengers also took place at airport. The Air India flight will later fly to Ahmedabad. All passengers reaching India will be screened and quarantined under Covid-19 guidelines. Repatriations of Indians from abroad are taking place under 'Vande Bharat Mission'. India started the mission to bring back over 14,000 stranded Indians via 64 relief flights.
