Watch: 56 elephants in two camps undergo Covid tests in Tamil Nadu

- Swab tests were carried out on 56 elephants at two camps in Tamil Nadu. 28 elephants underwent the test at Kozhikmudi camp in Topslip. The camp has 18 male and 10 female elephants, an official release said. Another 28 elephants of Mudumalai Tiger Reserve also underwent the test. 26 adults and 2 calves from the Theppakadu camp were tested. Samples have been sent to up’s Indian veterinary research institute. It was done as a precautionary measure after 9 lions tested covid positive. One lioness succumbed to the virus at the zoo in Chennai on June 3.
