WHO chief criticises Pfizer, Moderna over vaccine strategy as Covid cases rise

World Health Organisation Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that Covid-19 cases and related deaths are rising again after some respite. His warning coincided with increased public movement in India following relaxation of restrictions. Ghebreyesus also criticised vaccine-makers Pfizer and Moderna for prioritising jabs for countries with comparatively high vaccine coverage while middle and low-income countries suffer.
