Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Fanney Khan released on Friday to a mixed reaction from fans. Aishwarya's blink-and-miss role had a fan fuming but Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao impressed one and all with their performances in the movie.

Hindustan Times film critic Jyoti Sharma Bawa said Fanney Khan's real success is in its perfect casting. Anil Kapoor is convincing in the role of a father who piles on the burden of ambition on her daughter. Rajkummar Rao has drifted from his typical intense roles and shines with his comedic talent in the film.
