Indian martial arts help treat sports injuries

Even as Indians rush to foreign shores to avail medical treatment, people the world over are making their way to a small village in Kerala to learn an ancient form of martial arts, believed to cure injuries much faster. Kalaripayattu ('Kalari' meaning wrestling arena and 'Payattu' meaning fight) is an ancient, holistic, physical discipline that combines the dynamic skills of attack/defense and secret knowledge of the human body, with a scientific system of healing and therapy based on allied disciplines like Ayurveda.
