During an interview with Oprah Winfrey in Michigan, Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris addressed gun ownership and violence, stating, "If somebody breaks into my house, they're getting shot." She added that both she and her running mate, Tim Walz, are gun owners. Harris later remarked, "Probably should not have said that." Winfrey highlighted the issue of gun violence, noting that 383,000 children have been exposed to it. Actresses Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts also joined the conversation via live link. The discussion comes ahead of the November 5 presidential election, where Harris rebutted claims from Donald Trump that she would confiscate guns.
