Hijab row: Ruckus in Lok Sabha over Cong MP’s remarks; says, ‘Bid to terrorise'

- The Hijab controversy in Karnataka has now knocked on the doorstep of Lok Sabha. Kerala Congress MP TN Prathapan raised the issue in the lower house of the parliament, and sought immediate intervention of the education minister. He said that the protests in Karnataka, where Muslim girls wearing Hijab are not being allowed in colleges has created an identity crisis in the state. He stated that Hijabs are to Muslim women like Mangalsutra is to Hindu women and turbans are to sikhs. He also added that 'education for all' motto is getting hampered in the process and there is a bid to terrorise Muslim women and stop them from getting education.
