Army crest on MS Dhoni’s gloves | Ex-IPL chief backs MSD amid BCCI-ICC tussle

An Indian Army crest on Mahendra Singh Dhoni's wicket-keeping gloves has sparked a controversy. During team India's first match in the Cricket World Cup, the former skipper wore gloves which bore the 'Balidaan Badge', a commando dagger with wings. Only Paramilitary Commandos are allowed to sport the badge. Dhoni has been conferred with an honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment. But the International Cricket Council has asked the cricketer to remove the insignia, a decision which has been challenged by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
