The Indian cricket team crashed out of the World Cup after a shock loss to New Zealand in the semi-final. The match, in England's Manchester, lasted two days after rain forced stoppage of play on Day 1. Batting first, New Zealand managed to post a total of 239. India's top order crumbled under the Kiwis' bowling attack, with openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, and captain Virat Kohli returning to the pavilion after scoring just one run each. Ravindra Jadeja and Mahendra Singh Dhoni managed to stabilise India's run chase but were unable to secure victory.
